Collaboration Fuels Success: Pharmalys Team Training 2024

Jan 10, 2025 | Clinical Operations

In November 2024, the Pharmalys team came together for a three day training session in Dakar, Senegal, to prepare for an important study on neonatal sepsis. Reflecting the multinational scope of our team, colleagues travelled from across Africa and Europe, representing our offices in France, Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, and Senegal.

The training was structured to ensure all participants were well-prepared to execute a high-quality study. Neonatal sepsis remains a major health issue, particularly in low-resource settings where it contributes significantly to newborn mortality. The sessions covered study protocols, ethical considerations, and operational planning, equipping the team with the tools needed for efficient implementation.

Collaboration was a central theme of the training event. Team members engaged in discussions to refine strategies, share insights, and build the cohesion required for successful clinical research. By fostering open communication and teamwork, the training reinforced Pharmalys’ commitment to shared purpose and operational excellence.

After three days of learning and preparation, the week concluded with a team lunch at the beach, providing an opportunity to unwind after an intensive schedule. The day included activities designed to encourage creativity and strengthen bonds such as dancing, karaoke, and a group painting competition. Teams developed creative concepts that reflected their global reach while highlighting their ability to collaborate effectively despite physical distance. Many team members shared how close they felt with their fellow peers – despite not spending much time with one another outside of the Teams meeting room – emphasising the importance of collaboration and shared experiences which form the foundation of our collective success at Pharmalys.

Events like this underscore the importance of investing in both professional development and team morale. Pharmalys places equal importance on technical preparation and team development. By bringing together diverse perspectives and fostering meaningful collaboration, we continue to strengthen our ability to deliver impactful research. As we look back on this week, we are reminded of the dedication and enthusiasm that each team member brings to our mission.
